Major Motoko Kusanagi (Japonês: 草薙 素子 Kusanagi Motoko), ou simplesmente "A Major" é a protagonista do mangá de Masamune Shirow Ghost in the Shell e os animes derivados. Ela é uma ciborgue com o corpo inteiramente sintético que age como comandante do Setor 9 de Segurança Pública, uma divisão anti-cibercrime da polícia japonesa. Major é forte, impetuosa e inteligente, e conhecida por sua habilidade em dedução, táticas e hackear.
